The Rebellion was born

Universally scrutinised, for it's harbouring of rogue smuggling factions, savage mercenary fucktards, and power corrupt Dominion Overlords, that it's here in this shitty region of the Galaxy, that we begin our adventure. Known as The Karataq Zone this crap hole of space is mostly Revered for those legendary blood thirsty battles, the kinda place where the quick and the sharp survive, but the recklessly inept die. and usually pretty darn quick too!

Now, Jack Vance is certainly no stranger to the crazy, of these here parts, and with a bucket full of risky battles 'n' chaotic escapes it really is a wonder, how he's still alive. Because Jack's got this self fulfilling death wish policy, you see, the kind for being all gung-ho and balls out. You know, the rogue warrior daredevil type? Complete with a quick witted response and that silver tongued cheek, he's always ready to talk himself out from all kinds of bull-shit. But with all this said he is a damn good fighter pilot, in fact one of the best, I'd say! But when it comes down to just how the fuck he's managed to survive this far? I guess that's all down to good old lady luck. well, so far, at least.

It was amongst the Karataq battle debris, that Jack Vance first crossed paths with the bounty hunter Rinn Kaza. Now, Rinn flew a Space Wolf G4 interceptor, one of the fastest and most agile starfighters in the galaxy which sure look's cool but really doesn't mean shit, especially when being hunted by vengeful, and angry Dominion, Strike vessels.

Now unluckily for Rinn It turned out that the brutal Dominion Overlord ' Kerrad Lux' who owned this torturous zone had sent three of his finest strike ships, to hunt Rinn down. All due to, how do we say? the discovery of Rinns 'carnal indiscretions' with Candissa Lux the beautiful but dangerously unfaithful wife of said Overlord.

So no, not one of Rinn's greatest moments, especially after various uploads of compromising erotic video reels go galactically viral. The media grid went batacas shit crazy, with fake news stories and salacious pregnancy gossip. Ensuring that this particularly pissed off Overlord demanded that Rinn's severed Junk be served hot on a silver platter, by midnight that night.

Parked on a nearby asteroid both Jack and I watched this hunt develop from a distance, listening into the Dominions radio banter and certainly not planning to intervene what so ever as this really wasn't our fight. After all we had other things to do you know? like cargo to smuggle, enemies of our own to evade, the usual crap. but there was something about watching an underdog fight for it's life that never sat right for Jack. plus he also figured that if the Dominion were hunting this kid down that hard, he might just be worth something.

The attacking Dominion strike ships are closing in real fast. Their long-range destructor cannons hammering the void sending bursts of charged ion screaming past Rinn's hull.

His G4 twists and rolls darting between the jagged remains of a ruined battleship.

Rinn fires back, his plasma cannons burning through the shields of the lead strike ship but it's not enough, they've boxed him in, super tight.

Rinns defence sensors are now screaming at him with incoming warnings of a missile locked on his tail. He spins his G4 into a sharp twisting dive, but the missiles tracking system wont shake off. The Dominion gunners are hungry, real hungry for their bounty bonuses, and believe me, right now Rinn, he's worth a lot more dead, than alive.

Suddenly a large crescent shaped silhouette appears from the port side wreckage. Cutting across the battlefield, it absorbs the missiles impact with ease, activating it's Revok pro-grade deflector shields, in super 'fuck you' quick time.

Because this, my friend, is no ordinary space battler,

this is non other than The Mongoose.....

Sweeping in fast, all gunned up and heavily modified for speed and firepower, it opens up with a burst of it's Valve thrusters. The Mongoose roars like a vicious beast, savagely attacking it's prey. Before the Dominion strike ships can react, I had programmed the photon cannons to ferociously spit out high-velocity carnage into the lead PIGA X65's engines, causing it's full rear section to explode violently. The two remaining strike ships quickly brake formation momentarily startled by our sudden arrival.

Aggressively forcing our ship to twist and swerve through the debris Jack skilfully dodges the incoming fire. One of the Dominion ships an agile TC- 99A flips a rolling manoeuvre attempting to circle behind but our boy is already ahead of their game.

Triggering the Ghost cloaking system The Mongoose vanishes from all targeting scanners, enabling him to quickly reposition quickly, so by the time the Dominion pilots have recalibrated their systems, it's way too late baby! We Raced up fast and I let a salvo of disruptor missiles rip through the shielding of the TC-99A sending it spiralling and fiercely exploding into an uncontrolled drift.

The last Dominion ship a fast snub nosed KELSA C34 realizing that it's totally and utterly now fucked manoeuvres to turn and flee. I open The Mongoose's starboard ports as Jack triggers 6 modified Spiron vapers, directly into it's fuelling system, totally blasting the fucker, and it's shitty occupants into tiny fragments across the void.

With all Dominion ships destroyed the battlefield falls into silence. The glow of floating burning wreckage and mutilated bodies paints a cold and eerie scene.

Rinn steadies his fighter, his breathing heavy, adrenaline still pumping as he reads his systems report. The G4 has taken some serious damage as his shield core flickers the word 'critical' with energy levels red lining the word 'unstable'.

The Mongoose hovers nearby, carbon-scarred but mostly untouched.

For a long moment neither of them move, until Jack mics up and sends a broadcast.

''Hello stud. you must be proper hungry my son? especially after all that sitting around you just did, watching the Monkey and I save your ass''

Jack smiles as he sends Rinn the coordinates for the Narosca system.

Opening his mic once again he adds,

''Listen up kiddo I know of this real cool place to eat, i gotta bar tab there too. So gently throttle on and keep up for fuck sake''

The Mongoose banks toward open space and flies out. Pulling his throttle back Rinns G4 limps behind deep into the unknown. After crashing through an unstable wormhole they both find themselves deep in the Narosca system far from any Dominion law patrols.

Jack lands the Mongoose down onto the nearby small planet of Valcasroo's only spaceport paying the attendant for both ships to dock.

A green skinned Sanvak scuttles over as Jack makes demands that Rinn's ship gets fully repaired and stored in The Mongoose's cargo hold by morning. The Sanvak sneers knowing he's going to be up working throughout the night but eagerly swipes Jacks credit anyway. Aggressively ordering his tech crew to immediately start preparing for Rinns ship repair the Sanvak disappears scuttling into his workshop.

Jack gathers his personal attire and points Rinn towards a neon lit bar across the walkway, setting a key lock code for the Mongoose's flightdeck he follows Rinn into the bar.

Many hours pass as both men talk agreeing that the whole Galaxy was fast becoming nothing more than a massively corrupted crap pit fully exploited under the Dominion rule. Stories flowed of their successful star fight's and proud battles lost and won. The cold Narosca night falls into early morning as their talk soon forms into ideas, ideas of a rebellious militia. With hushed tones being careful not to be heard or raise suspicion they begin to draw their plans creating extensive lists of those trusted individuals who they knew would fight, fight with a rebelious cause.

So the ideal was formed their beginning was strange, their crew even stranger, formed of a foul-mouthed, reckless, and habitually insubordinate faction. A force that never fought for conquest but to protect.

They vowed to burn and sabotage dominion strongholds, whilst forever defending the colonies that no one remembered. For they were the ones who came when no one else would. For they were The Zone Warriors.
